Pilgrimage

In the heart of Maine’s largest city lies a park of oaks and color. 
 
Where roses breath amid a city teaming with people and vibrancies.
 
I feel the gentle breeze carrying echoes of voices spoken years before.
 
I hear his full belly laughter and see his ear to ear grin, as he joked that, his ashes should be spread in town so that ‘the women’ of Portland would have a piece of his ash.
