The US Navy's Supervisor of Ship Building (SUPSHIP), follows the guidelines listed in its Operation Manual (SOM). The following applications meet and often exceed the requirements of the SOM:
Audit Tool
The Audit Tool enforces a workflow for conducting audits. Audits are first scheduled in the Scheduling tool and a skeleton audit is created and the Lead Auditor notified. The auditor enters specifics about the future audit, including the purpose, scopes and event timeline. An 'Audit Checklist' is printed which provides the template for the audit checkpoints. After the Audit is conducted the findings are entered into the tool, an audit report is produced and if present corrective actions are recorded. |
Bath Materials Reporting Tool
Bath Materials Report is the repository for PDREP data. This process involves direct input of PDREP data into the BMR User Interface (UI), or indirect input through one of three engineering databases by virtue of a PDREP interface program. Once the data is in BMR the PDREP administrators produces a report that closely mirrors the PDREP Web UI and enters rekeys the data into that website. |
Manager's Internal Control Program
Managers Internal Control Program (MICP), collects the commands risks and internal control data that describes the severity of the risk and mitigation approaches. It works in consort with 80+ MS Excel workbooks (one for each Assessable Unit), importing that data and compiling the risk providing management reports and risk metrics. |
Risk Assessment Tool
The Risk Assessment Tool consumes QDE observation data and allows the user to select hulls, checklists and attributes to be placed in the a Risk Matrix. The tool places each checklist in the appropriate location on the Risk Matrix which is color coded Red, Yellow, Green indicating the Severity and Probability of the checklist. Further drilldown into the attributes comprising each checklist is available. |
Scheduling
The Scheduling Database is used by Managers and Team Leads to plan the 24 month surveillance plan. Its numerous reporting function provide schedule information to the Quality Assurance Analysts. Additionally, it exports weekly and monthly upload files which are imported into TSM providing tasking records in TSM. |
Training Aid Certificate Tool
The Training Aid Certificate Tool, collects and reports on physical certificates. Its workflow assures that certificates and properly named and approved by the TACT administrator. It notifies managers and users of recertification date and provides searching of certificates along with Group and Individual reports detailing status and expiration dates of certificates. |
